The Bryan softball team was blanked by sixth-ranked Waco Midway 8-0 Friday night at Lady Viking Field in District 12-6A action.
The Lady Vikings (5-19, 1-9) managed just two hits in the game with both coming in the fifth. Heather Ollinger led the inning off with a single and Izzy Worrell added one herself. Third base was as far as the Lady Vikings got to scoring though.
Midway’s Lanne Brown had double the amount of hits that Bryan did as she was 4 for 4 with four RBIs. As a team, Midway (21-4, 10-0) had 15 hits and eight RBIs.
Brown later pitched in relief of starter Camryn Carter. Carter worked five innings and gave up two hits, one walk and struck out four. Brown struck out three.
Bryan used two pitchers as well in starter Lacie Hernandez and Ollinger. Hernandez was roughed up by the Pantherettes as she gave up 15 hits, eight runs and walked two in six innings.
